ECONOMIC COMPLACENCY. So, a few weeks ago, I decided to email my Governor, Perdue, to find out what he's doing to bolster economic growth in my state. Four weeks later, still no answer from him. I'm not an activitst or radical who contacts government agencies for personal gain. I just wanted a reply, a personal note and written *nod* that the virtually unemployed in Georgia have a name, a face, a story. I still await his response, and truly hope it's not a form letter, because that would simply anger me. TAX RELIEF vs. CREATIVE MARKETS. I'm no economist or political scientist so bare with my rogue thoughts... I don't need a tax break. We don't pay taxes on ZERO income. I need a friggen job or at least a continued source of projects from a stimulated market. NEXT STIMULUS. Our country isn't excited about anything. Collectively, we're in a defensive mode, and if there's any industry that has benefitted, it's cable TV and Internet destinations. People are staying home and entertaining themselves with these avenues. I don't know the actual numbers, I *do* know in my universe of people, we're watching much more television than just a few years ago. We're all escaping from a sh*tty economic climate. Sell me something I absolutely need or hire me to help push that product or service to market. The Internet market is becoming rich with popular web destinations, yet today, it appears only computer companies and porn are benefitting properly from this influx of "escapists". BMW has it right. Their TV/Internet campaigns were so creatively intriguing, they won awards at the Cannes Film Festival!!! ADvertainment is an amazing outlet for pushing product in a exciting and palettable way. ADvertainment. *raises hand* I'd love the opportunity to work with this redefining force on a smaller market scale. The SouthEast, Atlanta... let's create an addictive marketing media phenomena. It will push product, entertain, create mindshare in the populus, and help me pay rent next month. peace- seanrox |
