Inability to effectively Blog about Policy
No block, rather the opposite. Too many thoughts as I diligently consume cable-broadcasted points of view of current events. It's as if , I really don't have a solid opinion on anything, in lieu of everyone else having such opposingly staunch manners to them.
No matter the relavence of anyone's position in a debate... the other is dismissed without addressing. So... what's the point of debate and understand?
All I have are short quips, questions and comments...
- This weekend, women around the world protested the impending war, on a day of celebration of "Women's Rights." They claim no war deposing Saddam (who historically rapes women as policy) could *possibly* better the women of Iraq. What? Iraqi women, and men for that matter, don't even have a legitimate right to vote. Instead of addressing this fact, they blame other nations that we're NOT at odds with as being "worse". Huh?
LESSON: a little bit of political help goes a long way... where were these people when Iraqi women were being raped?
- The French administration solidly believe in their point of view. Good, bad or for whatever political and financial reasons, they believe how they believe. They believe the current "containment" of Iraq is working well. No reason to debate that any further.
- In case anyone forgot... the United States survived/won both WWII and the Cold War. That counts... a lot.
- Martin Sheen isn't *really* the president. He only plays one on TV.
- President Bush *is* the president... I know it kinda sucks. I didn't even vote for him as Texas Governor... but we deal with things. One thing cool about being the president is... you know the rules and options so much better than... say... a "guy that plays the president on TV."
- Where is Lacy Peterson?
- I like the phrase: "BinLaden Boyz". I would hope that covert operations keep it a secret for awhile, if they did capture the youths.
- FOX NEWS is slanted to the right. Just in case you didn't know.
- CNN has gotten boring. This you already knew.
- Al Franken would be a good point of view... *only* if aired on FOX NEWS.
- Bob Dole and Bill Clinton debating about stuff they can't change on 60Minutes... what's the point? 60Minutes still remains one of the best programs on television today. Now... if Reagan was up to the challenge... that'd be kind of cool. And, of course, a feat of medical science. I digress...
- Bravo channel rocks. Really does.
- Watch out of cable networks TNN, USA and FX. Finally there's a place for very niche-y and redundant weekly programming. These networks will most likely be definitive targets for TiVo users.
- I'm done for now.
peace-
