Your Cultural Cross-Over is now Televised... Eminem and John Cougar Black Entertainment Network... finally dispells racism. About 1am last night, I was flippin thru the channels... at the top end of the cable spectrum, and briefly landed on BET. I smiled at the fact that Black Entertainment Network was airing an Eminem video. I suppose this proves my point, that "Black" entertainment is subjective.... that is.. is it "FOR" or "BY" blacks? Either way, felt rectified to see that race barrier duely broken. Let's leave racism to the radicals... there's no room for it in entertainment. Country Music Television... finally rockin'. Four more clicks up the cable spectrum, CMT's running their late-night video fest. Featuring.... John Cougar! Well, I know he dropped that moniker, but hell! He's rock, baby. "Country" music has been slowing waking the past 10 years to accept that their market loves solid Americana Rock. I applaud CMT for folding rock music that has fell out of place with pop and alt-rock media outlets into their own. Possibly in the future, CMT will share those barely-known, guitar-centric gems of Americana such as: Angie Aparo, Brother Cane's Damon Johnson... and for that matter... how about the fiercely-growing and emerging Rockabilly scene, who are as far away from ClearChannel programming as possible.
