LIFESTYLE vs. SECURITY
So, I found myself at the thesaurus...
give in
Synonyms: abandon, back down, bail out, bow out, buckle under, capitulate, cave in, cease, cede, chicken out, collapse, comply, concede, cry uncle, cut out, desist, despair, drop, fold, forswear, give up, give up, hand over, leave off, pull out, quit, relinquish, resign, stop, submit, surrender, surrender, waive, yield

"So negative!" I blasted myself. That's possibly the confound struggle inside my head? Dunno. With the "rag-tag group", I gave in very little, although I cared deeply about the project... as always. In *that* situation, seemed eventually, I finally began to reciprocate the level of respect I felt I was receiving. In the end -- *fizzle*.

A possibly something new, where the focus is on the environment? The people? Admittedly, that aspect hasn't been my priority. It's always been about the project. Which has profited me with so much experience. Time to cash in? Go a place where the product is important, but not everything? The concept eluded me before... maybe it's time to accept that... at least for a spell. Personal and creative growth will move forward no matter where I may be. If I can focus on everything with some green in my pocket... who knows. :-D I've always seemed to lose sight of myself.

Amazon... e-tail gobbles up... EVERYONE!
My first web purchase, other than a ISP/hosting account was with CDNOW.com... that's when you could get CDs for $10-$11 a piece!!!

CDNOW will now migrate over to Amazon's shop/affiliate engine. Add them to a growing list of online stores. Target, ToysRUs, Office Depot, and a laundry list of others... appears they've given up web software delopment and are focusing on marketing their products uniquely using the Amazon engine. So... is Amazon the ultimate E-tailing software company? Quite possibly. Not bad for a "book store" huh?

DOT COM DAYS MEMORY... free shipping kills.
Yea, if you weren't there, during the dot-com boom there were amazing anti-profit deals running rampid on every shiny new dot com E-tailer. In web deveopment companies around the world, we sent email-based coupons around on a daily basis... Seems you could get $50 free stuff from any given site. Best example of stupidity: the now defunct Pets.com (owner of the illustrious sock puppet dog), offered free shipping on all orders over $50. Well... 50lb bags of DogFood were over $50! So, for a week, I remember bags and bags of DogFood stacked up against the cube walls throughout the office.

New Songs... and Logos to boot.

Since the web flirts with visual gratification, here are the logos first...
  • One logo for a blanket chiro company
  • Three logos for a live production company

    Back to me...damnit.
Past week, I've been writing what appears to be a winding, memborable tune, to be titled... "100%". Something infectious about it... just can't put my finger on why, but it's a pleasure to play.

What does it sound like? Lemme see... I can imagine sprinkling piano (?) keys... large booming tympani... and the shrill of strings with contagious chorus, visual verses easy to remember and sing a long with. Similar to? Hmmm... well, stripped down without any production... I could imagine Angie Aparo or (god help me)... PearlJam? Strike that. Without the production it's hard to tell... it's just me.

AnalogyLand... where someone like you dreams.
It's all such a comically political analogy. Please follow me...
Large musclebound bully at school pushes thru a crowd of people to the smaller child wearing spectacles... hmmmm.... bad analogy. Forget I said any of that....

    Start Over...
More or less... the US is destined to randomly kick some major ass in Iraq sometime soon. (guess we've diverted energy from the Osama hunt.) The leaders of America seem so concerned about Sadam's Iraqi possible clandestine nuclear program... why? Possible infraction of the UN resolution he agreed to 11 years ago? Nope...

    My take:
Jr. wants to push a bunch of servicemen into an area of the world, they're really not welcome to. Before he drops more bombs on Bagdadland to avenge his father's will, he must think like a Texas oil man. You see, it's important not to accidentally blow-up the entire MiddleEast. There's oil in them there dunes.

One unburied nuclear device that takes a direct hit from our finely tuned arsenal could mean the end of life in the entire oil-rich region. Ah-ha! Good reason to get the UN taking immediate action ridding the proposed American target practice area of this type of catastrophe!

Using the UN envoy to do recon. for us!!! Amazing... like having your servants move the fragile knick-knacks out of the living room before the wild xmas party.

Well, now the UN is responsible for their work. Now, more than ever. (that phrase has never been used better.) If they determine Iraq is nuke free... np, US will bomb the crap out of them. If the UN didn't do their job properly. BOOM. Less oil for Curious George.

Means to an end, I suppose. Safety first! and of course... I *do* like to drive my gas-gussling SUV. ;)

    AlanYates PhotoShoot... complete.
Welp... we did it. Despite my patchy heat, HomeDepot lighting, and non-tripod using self... we took over 400 digital stills of the guy. (Not sure how I feel about having that many pictures of a male on my PC. hehe) We were able to capture a few shots we can use to push thru the site production. yay!

Although I jump quite a few hoops in Photoshop, having great photos to begin with is really the key. We'll need to call in the pros before the CDCover for 2003.

I did, however, post a temp page for AlanYatesMusic DOT COM!!! Check it out... that's my photography. hehe

    Creative Energy Cloud.
Facets of a cloud aren't defined... to gather the essence of each visage, package and prioritize quite possibly may be the most difficult during this dark, churning and regenerating period. Although it's early for that... it's essential.

    SX Portfolio 'n' mo'.
Been working on assembling that, with AK's scripting assist. It'll finally tie all the pieces together. This journal has *never* been linked to from the main seanROXMedia site... so, this'll be a first to tie everything together... ie seanROXMedia Portofolio, neosurrealism, and my journal/blog and all the beautiful hours of insanity it provides.

    New PC with XP.
After a month, it's in the "primary" position. (if you know my set-up here, you'll know what I mean.) Cockpit action. Digress... often the most talked about portion of my abode. "Wow! Look at size of those monitors!"

    SOUND.
Sound is in 5.1 with 3 channels kind of cool... crisp with and delicately sweeps from left to right. Winamp 3... Cool features such as ripping CDs, yet "feels" kind of umm... clunky? You know you're a computer geek, when you can "feel" an application be "clunky."

    CAMERA & AlanYates.
XP handles the digital camera(Nikon) rather well. Mounts as a drive and prompts me for assistance. Good computing experience. Experiemented more last night with the Nikon with AK's assist. Dramatic lighting is tough because I can't figure out how to turn the damn flash off. HomeDepot worklights with colored lamps clamped to chairs and mic stands will provide our lighting for tonight's interim photo shoot for AlanYates. Then, we'll begin the true production of the site. Focus: producer, engineer, artist. Slick, warm and friendly.

    ISSUES.
Still a few technical issues, as expected... primarily:
  • audio... line/mic input not properly working yet
  • still transferring files across the network from the older PC.
  • webcam doesn't work with yahoo messenger for some reason. *shrug*
  • need more memory to handle the 600meg files for neosurrealism.

    SX Music
Considering an open mic at Redlight Cafe tomorrow. "WashOverMe"... and ?

    SX Neosurrealism.
Worked with some new digital photos I took about a month ago... Canvas: 15,000 pixels is big, btw. hehe. MixedMedia on Canvas is the product upon delivery. mmm... now accepting commissions. hehe

    DAYONE complete.
How do you spend your first full-day of newness? Welp. You wake up at the same time. Shiver. Make a pot of too weak coffee cuz your eyes are too bleary do see that you didn't put enuff ground in the filter. Sit back, watch how much the world hates us on CNN... then the same on FOXNews... and behold a new audio message from Osama bin Dead for 6months. How convenient as Iraq accepts the UN Resolution that doesn't really matter.

I'd really be surprised if that guy was still alive. Seriously.

DISGRESS.... Contact the familiars. Meet with the current. Explode some ideas. New SX portfolio by the 18th? Be tough, but that's the focus. New SX allows to expand to new opportunities.

RECURRING... just bursts of possibilities. Worth the energy? Dunno. Guess that's why it's worth exploring. Simple sedative music... people love do it yourself stuff. If so, need it ASAP for Xmas shopping. Auction test?... and push art ahead. More shoots. Show available pieces.

    GAS.
Turned on... appearently not helping the heat situation. Call the double L tomorrow.

    GATHER.
    Thankful for friends. Thank you.

TEST. ANother day... Blogger still down? Yep.
(I *did* fill out the form again, I should prolly get a year free service by them being down so much. I especially like how they don't tell me when it's fixed. It's like a cruel, yet thrilling mystery I have to figure out for myself from day to day... email me this time guys.)

Still I write... found out today, despite my own knowledge, appearently I will not suffer from diabetes. Nope, I drink too much coffee. Whew.

    BDAY PARTY.
So, 2 musicians, a designer, a financial analyst, and a lawbound geek glide into a restaurant eat amazing food and drink. Sing. Sing more. Leave. Sing even more. Thank you all. unanticipated great time. David Lynch stood tall amongst the gifts. Thank you again. *hugs*.

    ROCK SEX PARTY.
It launched. Lots of to do and redo. The word is out in a small way. Allow me to build it.

Mad props to mscinny For starting the grassroots PR train early.
