Macromedia... we create stuff to build the web... ]
BUT WE SUCK AT USABILITY.

Trying to find a random syntax thingie for ColdFusion on Macromedia's "help" site... there are True/False questions to help me.

Problem is that the Questions are at the top... and the answers are waaaay at the bottom.Scroll up. Scroll down. Scroll up. Scroll down.

I'd like to introduce the HYPERLINK to Macromedia.

See Macromedia suck at usability.

Television and Radio People Need to Chill the Hell Out...
Former Turner exec Jamie Kellner was recently quoted:
“[Skipping commercials is] theft. Your contract with the network when you get the show is you're going to watch the spots. Otherwise you couldn't get the show on an ad-supported basis. Any time you skip a commercial . . . you're actually stealing the programming." Wow! And I thought Hillary Rosen at the RIAA was peeved.

Jellyfish Fans!
Below is a link to the most recent Andy Sturmer music I've personally heard in nearly 10years.
Marcel and Andy Sturmer!

The geek that I am... I recorded it off the site using CoolEdit. Have at it:

To anyone: is this cartoon show popular?

Props to MikeSilver, the great Jellfish Sleuth for finding the link.

MY EMPIRE Groweth.
So much going on. New ventures left and right. I'm in partnership mode. At the same time, I'm cleaning up my mess of my network of sites.

Clear Market Web Radio.
Introducing the simple concept:
CubeTunes.com... nothing there right now... but it's a more refined version of the radioshows I've done in the past with RadioWIRED.com, Yall.comm, and RockSexParty.com.

Dedicated to the work environment. Cube entertainment, persay...

First, downtempo music condusive to working. Electronic, Acoustic, World, TripHop... that sort of thing. Eventually co-brand/syndicated for specific messages, news, bla bla bla... first I'll launch simplistic.

WInners of the venture are: the cube-farm dwellers, webmasters, indie artists, advertisers.

    THE TRUTH ABOUT ANTI-TESTING?
The whole "pro-troops" vs. "pro-war" vs. "anti-troops" vs. "anti-war" debate and debacle feeds the child-like behavior in our culture. America, and the world for that matter, needs to grow the hell up.

If Protesting means you are *for* something... then anti-anything protesting is just public whining, and frankly negates itself, and you'll always be seen as troublemakers and finger-pointers.

    Instead... Support *SOMETHING*
Stand behind something. Standing behind peace is like standing behind smiling. Everyone wants peace. Stand behind a specific platform of firm diplomacy. Stand behind law. Stand behind solutions.

    Vocal Solutions not Questions.
People are more willing to listen to possible solutions and ideas than listen to arguement. If you feel deeply enough to take to the streets to show your stance on something... offer this *PRO* message louder and stronger than what you're against.

Believe me, otherwise you'll be just as effective to your cause as that single "burn-out" that shows up to a civil rights march holding a "Bush Sucks" plackard.

    Media Muddles Message?
Is it the media that clouds the view? Do they create the labels for people? If so protest that. Offer a new label... otherwise you'll be labeled however they perceive you.

I'm PRO-peace, PRO-troops, PRO-diplomacy, PRO-freedom, and PRO-caffeine for everyone on this planet. Especially for myself.

CONCRETE BLONDE ATLANTA 2003.... best show ever. 8 April, Variety Playhouse
(btw... BUY 2 brand new indie releases by Johnette Napolitano and Jim Mankey now!

  • BUY Johnette Napolitano's "Scrapbook" CD
  • BUY Jim Mankey's "JAM" CD
  • PLEASE EXCUSE THIS SHAMELESS TEXTUAL SHRINE.
Broken-record "mode" or not... whenever a music fan has the opportunity to see their fav... it's magic. Now, I think it's two-way. Last night the adoration was reciprocal.

To the dismay of 'Blonde fans everywhere, I decided not to do the whole camera smuggle thing this time 'round... sorry.... but what a great fricken show! (last year's pics) Be sure to catch this leg of the tour... of the 6 times or so I've seen them, this was the height. There have been bigger audiences, but none better... best since "Walking in London Tour" Orlando '93. :-D

    THE TWINEMEN OPEN THE SHOW.
The dissident Twinemen opened the show. After their set, it'd be really difficult to realize anyone else ever opening for the 'Blonde. Recently-formed, the Twinemen are a blend of surviving members of Morphine and (admittedly cute) Laurie Sargent on lead vox.

The haunting swing and groove of Morphine resound in this new incarnation. Smoky, twin horns, and a bassline that just keeps it on the level.

    CONCRETE APPEAL.
From that chance show I caught in the late 80s of an eccentric Hollywood punk' n stroll band at desert venue... Eternally captivated, whether by power to speak, ability to humble, to honestly share... and passion to make a hellacious noise. An underground voice of beauty and brood, the visual appeal forever excels.

    10 ATLANTA HIGHLIGHTS.
Pine. Reading back... m'sappiness draws a starry-eyed picture instead of journalistic storyline, so I'll be short (have no choice).

    1. God is a Bullet... opened. The original lure for me.
    2. Martin!... geeky music thing, but Jim and Johnette both jammed on a Martin!!!! heh
    3. Eccentric Groove... as always the energy... eccentric, sometimes asian, often latin, but always blue.
    4. Lullabye Girls... 2 lil ones took stage. Appearent the lullabye's been a reality. Through melting tears, children taught the creator unsuspected relevance.
    5. The SingaLong... dedication to material.
    6. Joey Slam... catch the tour... Joey slams near the end more raucous than Still In Hollywood ever was. Pogo.
    7. Jim Mankey pretty much rules... continues to tingle m'ear in only ways he and The Cure know.
    8. Diversity from the previous tour... last tour was an impetuous delivery. A defiant return to the world... equal energy, this tour embraces as it opposes. Class and clammer.
    9. Testimony... everyone I spoke bore a similar story of attachment that exceeded music appreciation. (so there.)
    10. KK... she flew in from Florida to share the show with me.

    NEW INDIE RELEASES
Want new Concrete Blonde music? Beyond the new LiveInBrazil, which you can buy virtually anywhere... support both Johnette and Jim's new independent CD releases. I have them on-order.Bust out the plastic and link below:
  • BUY Johnette Napolitano's "Scrapbook" CD
  • BUY Jim Mankey's "JAM" CD now!

Dunno how long these will last.

    btw...
    1. Join the RockSexParty Newsletter to find out when they re-release the Dream 6 material very soon. (this was Johnette's band before the 'Blonde was formed)

    2. Keep up with the latest 'Blonde stuff on Dean's original fan site: blonde.vox.org ... he's kept us abreast thru the "lean years".

    The Art of the Impoverished...
Despite my PBJ lifestyle, I've been extremely busy with photoshoots, web design, songwriting/recording... and yet, the cupboard is bare! How does this happen? I'll just keep chuggin' handing out good karma, in hopes it returns favors.

    Recent Digital Photoshoot
That's Roxanne to the right, and yes, those are abs. She won her body-building contest last week. Give her some kudos. Working with her was unique... I tried to find a softer edge to someone that is so damn lean... did I do it!?!

    Big Site Launching Next Week
I'll be launching the largest site I've designed since CJ next week. It's a simple, ultra-easy to use and uses some really brilliant colors. purrrrty. More on that next week.

    Concrete BLonde TONIGHT!
KK's flying in soon for the ConcreteBlonde show down the street at Variety. My third show in a year. Must be cool to have a dedicated fandom.

    That's enuff for now...

AMERICAN IDOL 2: Scandal at the top 9... and Top 8.
WTF! This week was supposed to be the Top 9... but gloriously, Corey Clark was kicked the hell out of the competition before due to his pending felony conviction of 11 millon counts of "aural assault and battery" and generally sucking a lot.

Well, that's not the whole truth... something to do with kicking his sister's ass had something to do with it as well.

    THE SCANDAL.
So, that puts us a week ahead of the schedule. Instead of voting an additional contestant off this week as scheduled... the American public was DUPED!

Appearently, everyone stays because Corey is the awarded the "kicked-off" person award instead. Next week they'll *combine the votes* from this week to figure out who goes home. Guess they need the show to extend into sweeps.

    ACTUAL BOTTOM 3.
    KatyKim. Carmen. KimberlyLaw!?!
Well, KimberlyLaw from Tennesee made it through! Whew. She's really great, wake up America. With KimberlyLaw safe, this left us with booting off a set of BlondeBoobs. My take is the show producers wanted to keep both hot blondes in at least a few more weeks. Boobs=ratings.

    JOHNNY BENCH.
The luckiest retard in America knows his days are numbered. Simon semi-clandestinely exposed that.

    RYAN SEACREST.
Been doing a great job, but producers: it's hard to fill an hour of content by yourself. Give him more pre-produced crap to introduce.

AMERICAN IDOL: TOP 9... errr 8... Kick Ass! CoreyClark is gone
Woohoo! Damn Corey was mediochre at best. Unsure why Paula kept dingin' his bell. Good riddence.

Disco night *wasn't* nearly as fun as you might have thought it might have been. Dude from Earth, Wind and Fire, sportin' the flat-iron mullet (flullet?) made me feel lil queezy. Like a creepily-dressed disco-queen that shows up at Wafflehouse at 3am.

    Here's the rundown...
    PERSONAL BOTTOM 3:
  • Treynce... let's face it... she's *not* Tamyra & simply doesn't have the star quality or charm.
  • Ricky... he gets points for the afro, loses more points for simply singing sucky.
  • Clay... one-trick pony to me now, but he'll prolly make it further than need be.

    THE REST:
  • KatyKim... she looked, sang, performed great. Waited for a boob to pop out of her Abba outfit.
  • Josh... countryMarine sucked. Didn't pull off that disco song... BUT after this is all over he'll get a deal. Solid fanbase.
  • LilMormonGirl... (Carmen)... for once, she sang and performed well. Her best performance. Paula, queen of pitch issues... glass house, baby. Glass House.
  • KimberlyLaw... what a voice! great smile... did that song justice. I have a feeling I enjoy her perfomances more than middle America. Fire your wardrobist.
  • Ruben... Simon's got it right. The dude is smooth, natural.

  • Analyzing your Web Traffic can be scarey...
Every few weeks I'll take a look at how random users link to and visit my site. Most of the time, it makes sense... links from friend's sites, Google searches for stuff I'm interested in... most users end up on pages of my blog archives about subjects that are relavent. Not so the other day...

    FBI?
Some user, (using Aerondial, an ISP out of Reston, Va.) clicked thru to my site thru a SICK yahoo search.

Oddly I'm listed on the first page for this twisted search by what I assume is either some pedophile or FBI agency... glory-be... I hope it's the government because it's pretty sick... and weird: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=8+yr+old+child+pussy+pics&sp=1

AND... completely unrelated... how do we lose people?

I lost my keys ONCE.... then found them again. I'd think a whole human body... pretty hard to misplace.

Saddam, Usama, Laci Peterson... perhaps everyone is somehow lodged inside a clothes dryer somewhere next to my long-lost Whitesnake concert tshirt and argyle sock? Must be crowded.
