seanrox "Breathe" Jam... two takes... vulgar downloadable mp3s for the multitudes.
So, AK (12-string) & JD (lead) join in on an almost impromptu and open jam at VMG Studio for one of my newer songs, "Breathe"...

The first track, the soundcheck, includes an ode to Sesame Street's crack-dealer, Mr. Hooper. I rocked far too hard... broke 3 guitar strings, the third during the second take. POP!

There is extreme language in the lyrics. Be warned...

  • TAKE ONE VULGAR seanrox-SesameStreet-BreatheJAM-23July03VMG.mp3
  • TAKE TWO, BROKEN STRING seanrox-BreatheJAM-23July03VMG.mp3

Have fun... listen away. (... and yes, I totally unknowingly ripped off JackBlack. I am not ashamed.)

Insidious Rays, Outshined, Slangbanger July 2003, Luby's in Lawrenceville, Ga.

    (click below to enlarge)

The Insidious Rays came to town, and after a rushed rehearsal at the Sh*tty Somber Reptile... (there's a whole backstory with the other bands dissing them, and being kicked out by the christians.) there was further RockSocial at my place... well into the night. Next night... the folks in the suburbs weren't sure what to make of this 5-piece... heh... was a night of group psychology. The natives eventually grrrroooved on The Rays surf, and joined in on the whack-country sing-a-longs. Later the local bands asked Matt up on stage... and they rocked as one... "Talk Dirty to Me"? Enjoy the pics.

    Why NPR is funny...

I saw on CNN that some random baseball player bat-swatted a mascot of some-sort and knocked a couple down to the ground as they performed their antics near the dugout. Not *that* funny.

On NPR (National Public Radio), however, because it's RADIO, they must describe in detail the visuals of the situation. Now, that *can* be worth a chuckle...

And here is the gratuitous image despite the strong radio reference >>

    WWWistory

Sneaky lil tool, The Wayback Machine will undermine us all and prove us as liars, phonies, and horrible aesthetists in our past.

Although, I published my first site in 1995, this portfolio from circa 1997 showed up in late 1998. A whole bunch of old art and images I thought I'd lost are on there. God Bless those with technological foresight... they'll make liars of us all.

For AK's take on the whole thing.

    We "Publish" Ideas...

It's not an original concept, the skeleton of a creative business. Whether if be film, graphic digital design, music, software, video, or written word... the media varies, but the service is simply: publishing.

Medicine Cabinet Tour... a photo exploratory... coming soon from seanrox

How do we keep the importance of our most personal of spaces? With so many products for hygeine, beauty, medicinal uses... this unique collection of data more specific to each of us than we'd usually share.

Whether your medicine cabinet is hiding behind your bathroom mirror, or a deep drawer beneath your sink. It's as much "you" as anything.

    Art is HOW.

I'm sure there's a term of it... and it's probably just as difficult to understand in itself. How do went surpass this issue? How do we illustrate the unknown with understandable language? Art.

This is an art we developed over time with shared language, alphabet, and illustrations. (great! now I sound like freaky-art-guy)

With this in mind, once art intersects with what is known, this idea becomes something known itself. Now the art has been interpretted, the mystery of the idea is unveiled, and is now part of our shared history of ideas. Simply an archive of what we've experienced.

Art is often LESS about "what" is captured, MORE about "how" the art is captured. How did feel when you heard that song on the radio for the first time? Has a painting ever left with a feeling of understanding a time, place or situation better? Did the scene in the movie make you cry? Angry?

I was never an "art student" in those proper terms. So, I don't know if I'm regurgitating some first year of art school banter or not. I just know over the past couple years, I've found myself in awe of the creative works by many on an entirely new level. Sometimes to the level of geekiness and stating the obvious because it's so much more pertinent to the work in my own eyes.

So, if art is an idea. Design is the art assimilating that ether into reality in language we can fathom. I am a designer, publisher of ideas.

**NOTE, after writing this blog, occurred to me to Google and see how relevent this concept is... this is what I found:
  • Art is a Verb, Not a Noun, by Paul Butzi
  • Some free essay about Art being "how"
  • jonathan sobol, A veteran modern artist agrees.
  • "It is generally accepted that art has no meaning unless it is put before an audience." - Ethymonics
  • "Art is about being creative and emotional." - Eric Halpin
  • "Art is how we as people express all our deepest emotions concerning life – all that we understand, and all that we do not." - Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke in 1952

handcrafted in a daring ritual of great proportions. Typing at a mind stream rate of 555 th. Don't think, just rightoously look at the keyboard when you attack the ledtters in a fluid state. Never stop. Never stop. It's an exercise in twin falcons upon the steering wheel. Turning around in your own justification. Never the less, I spin on the tip of that ritual.

Chocolate desire in a mist of trailing smoke. Las time I tried to carry one for myself I died and gave little to mind, and minded little to the give. Yellow chime in a spun-quest at a national desk. Lipstick-smeared upon your cheek. Bushy Busy eyebrow momma.

    Ashton & Demi... punk'd?

    AK sent this link:
Celebrity Dating - Are Demi and Ashton for real? And everything else you need to know about Hollywood mating rituals. By David Plotz

I'd accept the news with a smile, if this cross-generational bratpacklett were a scam. I thought Kutcher was all over the alternatively hot, Britney Murphy. (That's my best People inquinsitive writing style.)

Either way... keeps the world interesting, and for both Ashton and Demi's PR... gooforyou. But... remember, maybe he really lives a treacherous life of beastiality, and we're simply punk'd.
