IDOL 3, Group 2 RECAP
  • Camile Velasco made it as suspected.
  • Matthew "Rosebowl" Rogers... boy-crazy vote put him thru. Dude just isn't talented enuff for this competition.
  • Lisa Leuschner, although in the top 3 lost out to the afore mentioned boy-crazy vote. Sorry.

    IDOL 3, Group 3 RECAP
This week, with pressure on on the sofa to ACTUALLY VOTE by phone (first time ever)... My top 4 were:
    1. LaToya (blame yer mom)... an obvious pro... hopefully she can show America she can be personable.
    2. Leah Labelle... mer mom was a euro pop-star... I thought she'd get the opportunity to compete. Americans didn't agree.
    3. Jon Peter Lewis (from Idaho)... this former feaux pen salesman could have rallied a Matthew Rogers-esque boy-crazy vote, but instead... lost his ass. BTW... what was he doing in Hawaii at the time of his audition?
    4. Charly Lowry... what a great accent.

    ...but this was the reality...

    1. LayToya wins.
    2. Amy Adams follows. Didn't see this coming. Although she moves voice quite easily... her image doesn't seem to mesh with her personality.

    Bring it on.

    IDOL 3, Group 2
Ok, so I slacked last week with Group 1... get over it.

    The skinny from Group 1...

  • Fantasia kicked ass and made it.

  • Diana DeGarmo. Lucky lil thang, but she chose one of my favorite songs.

  • "Michael Bolton Jr" made it to the Group1, Top 3... scary.

  • What happened to Jennifer Hudson.... with the AMAZING voice? She was in my top two. She rocked the hell out of Lennon's "Imagine"... one of two songs I remember a week later. Oh well... guess the voters wanted a boy.

  • Were there others?

Group 2... aka "Jesus sucks, and so does his brother."

  • FIRST CHOICE: Camile Velasco... Mahalo... you can pass to the next round... but we expect good things from you little one.

  • SECOND CHOICE: Marisa Joy... for eye candy's sake push her thru... she's
got the pipes... she resembled a stacked Lisa Marie... AND she's got a twin sister in the Army... ummm... oh yea!

  • LIMBO: Lisa Leuschner... good voice, nice bounce in her... step. seems nice enuff.

  • DARKHORSE IN THE VOTE: Briana "metrosexual" Ramirez-Rial... with another few weeks practicing and a long-haired wig she could pull off that sexy piano girl vibe... in Vegas.

  • ... Matthew Rogers... "RoseBowlGuy"... not strong enuff to be in this round.

  • ... Noel & Jesus Roman... wtf? Through the earlier auditions I never liked them. Just think... we could have had TWO scooter girls for the price of the Roman brothers.

  • Kara Master... nerves got to her... I suppose... or maybe that nasty sinus infection... get some antibiotics for this girl. :)

    Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

    spoutROX: January 2004

Been several months since I've properly and publicly spouted to myself in a written medium. Chere-goes...

    Democratic Primates
Appears Dean and his dot-com mula gave the Democracks a needed boost in the pants. That same vigor sealed his fate. Kerry should thank Dean for his pep-rally tactics and establishing the basics of the Democracktic platform for 2004.

Watch out for Edwards in 2012, if not sooner.

Bush is a liar and a thief.
    Mmmmm... yea, that's about it.

Bush is a liar and a thief. PART TWO...
Also, know that Halliburton (Baby-Daddy=Cheney, VP ) is getting a nice chunk of that 87 billion you're paying to rebuild Iraq. Must be cool to get direct infusion of cash from the gum'ment.

Further more... in November, voting for anyone NOT named Bush is cool. Even if your candidate looks like a zombie.

    SuperBoob
For once, I agree with the FCC. Showing a boob for shock value during a heralded "family television moment" isn't a great idea. Congrats Janet! Lil five-year-old Billy in Butte, Montana saw his first boob on TV! ... and wonder how Janet thought this might help her brother's molestation case when his own sister streaks in front of millions of children.

pssst... CBS and Mtv... same company. Funny how CBS pawns ownus to Mtv and VIACOM.

    Grammy
    Video Production... second rate.
Dunno if it was the FCC delay, but everything dragggggggggggged between stellar performances. Graphics/Voice-Overs sounded like the kid in your A/V class in Junior HighSchool. If you can catcht the Mtv Euro Awards.... you'll see top-notch video production.

    Stage Production... first rate.
  • Xtina and Linda Perry's "Beautiful" Winner... called it last year.

  • Pink (and Linda Perry?) "Trouble" Winner... she's a badass, but didn't perform... odd.

  • OutCast Album of the Year Winner x3?... ATL!

  • Evanescence Winner... I called it. After 20 years of dark, symphonic/gothic rock... nice to see something stand-up... from WindUp records... those that brought you Creed. :)

  • White Stripes... Winner x2... awesome... still don't own the CD... it's on the hotlist.

  • Eating our own dust.

Although my spirits remain high, I've felt a great strain on my sanity the past couple of years. I've tried to be my worst critic. This fortunately has helped me identify stuff before it becomes too serious. Sometimes I haven't.

I feel good about today, except... my dark worldly path. Mostly, because I have no idea where that may be leading. Nor am I in a hurry to get there. For once, I'd like everything to be just a bit more simple and easy to swallow.

I've gotten behind myself. My body and my own sanity will take a while to wade thru the dust clouds created by my mind, creativity and drive. When sick, you rest. When overwhelmed, you reorganize. Sometimes, I think about how cool it must be to have a mentor that could understand, nurture and give real-time advice. A friendly, helpful Ben Kenobi on my shoulder, if you will.

I'm one guy. I'm first generation. I have flaws.
